This Bronze head depicts a
Benin King. When the kind died the he would have an altar built in his honor where the head would be placed next to. the altar was so that the Kings spirit could look over and counsel his people for their betterment. I love African art. I think African art is very well known are appreciated by the masses. I loved the fact that they used his head its amazing how people and cultures differ across the world. |
