  • Describe what you know about the protagonist, the main character:
(a) who is he,                                  (b) what does he do? a. He is someone who is injured and has a cast around his leg but has police connections and is known to help the police. b. He helps the police, he might be some type of detective but he is very aware and understands body language pretty well. (c) Add his name if you remember it. c. Jeff  
  • Why is he always looking out his window?
He's always looking out his window because he can't really move around since he's injured and looks out the window to entertain himself.  
  • Describe what you know about the antagonist, the villain: (a) who is he,
The antagonist is one of his neighbors, who had a sickly wife and was killing her with poison. He has a job and is named Thorwald. (b) what does he do for a living?    (c) Add his name if you remember it. He's jobless and his name is Thorwald.  
  • Describe everything you know about the main character’s helper, his assistant: include his (a) name,  (b) race, (c) approximate age.
His assistant is named Sam, I think he's black? and around 30-40?
  • Who was the murder victim?
Thorwald's wife  
  • Why did witnesses claim they saw the victim alive, in another location?
It was this mistress who was impersonating Thorwald's wife since they didn't have any physical description of what the wife looked like.  
  • Where was the dead person hidden?
In the 5th floor. She was mixed in with the concrete.  
  • Why was the hero’s POV (point of view), his range of vision, limited?
His POV was limited because he couldn't move and so the only things he could see were from outside his window so he only saw Thorwald through the windows of his building.  
  • How did the main character avoid getting shot? (Be specific.)
He hides behind something and nearly gets shot  
  • Why were the neighbors keeping their windows open?
