video demonstration of the saw stop brake in action
The saw stop channel itself has interesting and informational videos. Its definitely worth looking through and watching some of them.
As John said today in class, this “saw-stop” technology should be on every saw. Currently, Bosch is working on the ReaxxTable saw which is a contractor size table saw that will detect human flesh. It uses a different mechanism to achieve an almost identical effect.
Not the best video but it explains everything about the new product.
The control panel looks pretty good on that Bosch, but the safety system seems behind the Sawstop tech, especially since Sawstop already makes a contractor model.
I’m glad the other manufacturers are finally catching up, but it seems like Sawstop is still way ahead in my book, especially with the option to buy your Sawstop with a Biesemeyer fence direct from the manufacturer instead of adding it as an aftermarket part.
