    Brent Staples “Walk on By” He talks in the point of view of a Black man who lives in Chicago who is basically racially profiled. He describes situations in his day to day on comings of just being himself and noticing people acting suspicious and or running from him. He also describes his own appearance in which basically is intimidating to other people. Although he is the total opposite of what people think he talks about how after all these situations and interaction with the police he how he tries to accommodate people by basically staying away from them to let it be know he is not trying to hurt anyone. you cannot just a book by its cover

    Shermin Alexi’s “Lone Ranger and Tonto” describe a situation a night when this indian man with long hair decides to go to a 7-11 for snack. He talks about his darker skin be also partially being racially profile where the 7-11 clerk thinks cause he works such a late shift that he will be robbed. As the man proceeds to pick his items and ask for one last item the clerk decides to ask again knowingly exactly what he wants had something else on his mind such as robbery. The man purchasing his items knows the situation he’s in and tried to throw off the clerk with a question of a common song people would know just to get the thought of robbery out of his head. This is all due to the fact it was late and also his appearance
