“All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood.” (Article 1) I believe this sentence has a strong message that isn’t practiced in today’s society. First, when we break down this article, all human beings is what stands out the most. The acceptance to be born equal in dignity is not respected. Under the oppression that people of color face in the real world shows the difference. With the movement happening at the moment, that being the black live matter protest, the word equal is the meant to represent equality between all races. Although that change cannot happen until black lives are made apart of it. In a “Spirit of Brotherhood” is to be in unison with one another. That is what is not represented in today’s society. Growth and change need to come or else these writings will remain false.
