In the Exhibit called “Dressed and undressed” by William Wegman at Sperone Westwater was about dog portraits. The entire exhibit occupied the third and fourth floor. They are rectangular rooms that have images all around the space. One near the elevator entrance and another one at the end. The rest are around the rectangular room in the middle. On the third floor had a office with a computer and desk and surprisingly had a Polaroid picture of the Photographers Dog. The pictures that were all around the gallery’s were all about the photographers dog with human clothes looking silly. The Polaroid pictures were taken from 1979-2007. The photograph was from a 20×24 Polaroid camera.
The way the dogs were being photographed in the pictures were really straightforward. They all had their little costumes on to make it seem like they were humans like us. The exhibit is really about the photographer trying to make the dog seem like “humans” with all of the costumes they had the dog in. Some of the photos didn’t really make it seem like some humans can not do. Just like the photo of the dog that has a sock on their of their mouth. The dogs will be neatly seated and let them put human clothes on them. William Wegman is showing how dogs could also be humans just like us. With some of the costumes or clothes looking Kinda crazy on the dog to catch the attention of the people seeing the photographs. With a lot of funky and crazy photos being captured of the dog.
My favorite picture out of all of them will have to be the one called parcheesi. It had three very vibrant colors that really stood out and catched my attention. There are two dog legs in the picture that have a gap in the middle to show the colors. The vibrant colors like green, red and yellow really make the Polaroid picture pop out a lot.
