  • Incident on Broadway Friday Night: What Do You Think?

    This past Friday night, Vice President Elect Mike Pence went to see the musical “Hamilton,” which of course is about a historical figure whose name frequently comes up in our course. In the curtain call, cast member Brandon Dixon addressed him:

    “Vice president-elect Pence we welcome you and truly thank you for joining us here.

    “We sir, we are the diverse America who are alarmed and anxious that your new administration will not protect us, our planet, our children, our parents, or defend us and uphold our inalienable rights.

    “But we truly hope this show has inspired you to uphold our Americans values and to work on behalf of all of us. All of us.

    “We truly thank you for sharing this show, this wonderful American story told by a diverse group of men and women of different colors, creeds, and orientations.” (Daily Mail story with video, if it works for you)

    Any thoughts, either supportive or critical of Dixon’s action here?
