Shallow depth of field –
In order to get this photo, we got very close to the subject with the aperture at f5.6 which let more light in, making the depth of field shallow so that only one of the chess pieces was left sharp and the others are out of focus.
Extensive depth of field –
In order to take this photo, unlike the previous one, we moved away from the subject and had the aperture set at f22 so that all of the image is in focus.
