I apologize for not mentioning this in class: City Tech is hosting an evening of Poetry and Spoken Word this Thursday night at 6:30 on Cadman Plaza.
If you go to this event and type up a one-page response, I will give you 10 points toward your journal grade. If you cannot make it, don’t worry, I will offer more extra credit points later this semester.

By response, I mean that after listening to the poets, write down what you liked or disliked about the poems. Also, this might help: did you respond by feeling some sort of emotion or idea? Then write down and describe those feelings and ideas.
