Some of my Favorite classes at New York City College of Technology would have to be:

Culinary I & 2 and Baking and Pastry I & 2

During Culinary lab classes we had the opportunity to practice our knife skills, learn about sanitation safety in the kitchen, and portion control. The reason why this was one of my favorites was because it taught us the basic recipes used in a professional kitchen, but it also allowed for me to get credit for learning and practicing my passion and craft. Similarly, baking and pastry art allowed me to have a degree of artistic freedom which was so fun.

Dining Room Operations

Dining Operations taught us about the rules and etiquette of fine dining. During the 15 week program we had the opportunity to serve guests on a weekly basis;  learn about food and wine pairings; as well as how properly interact with guests. The class taught me the importance of teamwork in an operation.
