CST2410 Introduction to Computer Security

Stay connected and have a balance between your privacy and convenience.

Visiting a website via the browser is a traditional approach for us to stay connected. However, every time you visit a website, your browser sends little bits of information about itself–and subsequently, about you. In this activity, students will have the opportunity to understand what information the browser is collecting and see how trackers view their browsers by reading and having hands-on experience with the browser fingerprinting and tracker awareness tool https://coveryourtracks.eff.org/learn. Students will be empowered to determine their balance between privacy and convenience with this activity and suggestions. This activity will take approximately 30 minutes of class time (20 minutes of individual work, 10 minutes of class discussion).
