Hey guys,
For our jump cuts, we’ll be using the jib-arm. It’ll be a fight scene with two girls in the hallway.
Before the fight scene in the hall, we can shoot Jailyn in the classroom. The black curtains will be the background and Jailyn will be sitting at the table gluing pictures of Sandra and me (Natasha) to the pages. There will be split lighting on Jailyn.
For the jump cut/jib-arm fight scene, the scene will start from the bottom of the stairs in the hall, and smoothly move up. As the camera is moving upward, two girls will be walking toward the stairs, pick up, the papers, and start fighting. We’ll print out some pages of rude comments/gossip about the girls, as props. The two girls can be Sandra and me. The costumes can be regular clothes. Just jeans and a t-shirt.
After we get the jump cut shots, Sandra and I will continue to be fighting. Then the camera will be rolled back until Errick is in the frame. Errick pulls out his phone, and says the line “Mom, can you pick me up?” We can have butterfly lighting on Errick (even though it’s mostly used for women).
I just wrote the same thing in the other group’s thread, but this is relevant to both groups:
>First of all, someone (some people) in the group should post the summary of what you discussed in class last week. Then, it will become clear to me , your teammates, and the other group what your initial plans are. Remember, only one of the two groups can stay at AG38 at a time. So, there is some planning involved there, too. The group with better planning will complete all the requirements and will do better. Hopefully, both groups will do well.
So I think the way this can work is the beginning of the video we can start with the introducing the characters and do most of the lighting there. Then after that our jumpsuits and jib arm can be outside of the room. Near the black doors by the bursar office leading to the small staircase. Will it be fine if we do this scene starting with Sandra showing Regina George pictures jump cut to me throwing the pictures. Then we can keep jump cutting a fight between me and Natasha at the staircase. Erick can probably be in the back saying “Mom, can you pick me up?” like Natasha mentioned. Let me know what you think about this guys?
Characters:
Jailyn – Regina George
Nastasha- Cady Heron
Sandra- Gretchen Wieners
Erick – Boy on the phone in the background
Okay, that works!
Since in the movie, Ragina is the one that makes the burn book, shouldn’t it be me that Sandra gives the papers to with the gossip written on it?
Okay, great. Yes the pictures as props are a great idea along with the wig you have. I’ll bring a red cardigan as a costume for Cady. I don’t think we need a jump cut for that scene.
We can do another scene inside also so the story has movement and we can get cooler shots. Where Cady gets mad at Regina for kicking her out of the group because she didn’t wear pink on a Wednesday. Even though its a Friday we can just pretend.
Oh okay! So that will explain why Cady is mad at Ragina, especially when she sees that Ragina made up a gossip page about herself to make it seem like Ragina is the victim.
Natasha Bruno
I’ll bring an apple as my “lunch” for that scene
Natasha Bruno
So I don’t have a red cardigan anymore (it doesn’t fit). I’ll be coming in with a red shirt and red coat.
Also, scratch the butterfly lighting on Errick. We can have the butterfly lighting on me when I enter the lunch scene. Then when you kick me out, I’ll walk out of the frame upset.
Hi Guys so as we discussed in class our theme is Mean Girls. If you haven’t seen the movie here’s a trailer to give you a feel about what the story of the project should kind of be like.
Hi… I like your ideas… I saw the trailer and the link that Natasha gave us also. We need a storyboard. I can make it!
We had discussed in class that the fight scene would be jump cuts.

This the fight scene from Mean girls but it won’t be as hectic.

Also, in the beginning scene where Sandra gives the book, we can have the Rembrandt lighting on her
You’re right Natasha. That makes more sense. I like the idea of the rembrandt lighting on her. Should i print out pictures as the prop?
We could also do a jump cut/ OTS shot of me looking at the pictures?
Okay, great. Yes the pictures as props are a great idea along with the wig you have. I’ll bring a red cardigan as a costume for Cady. I don’t think we need a jump cut for that scene.
The OTS sounds good too. Are we going to incorporate Regina throwing the papers in the hallway??
You know it !!
We can do another scene inside also so the story has movement and we can get cooler shots. Where Cady gets mad at Regina for kicking her out of the group because she didn’t wear pink on a Wednesday. Even though its a Friday we can just pretend.
