So far in terms of our progress with our project we are doing well. Today Ouri and I went on a scavenger hunt through the whole school to find most the student services that are available to us. Most of the areas we didn’t have access to today because a good number of them were closed on Fridays. I’ve been getting to know my partners a lot more and how they prefer to get things done. As we are working on this group project together, my main focus is to keep up and be able to work with my partners so that we can do well.

So far me and my group have came up with the topic of creating a course that focuses on creating a pathway or a blueprint for a student’s success. The problem that we are focusing on is that a lot of students in general are rushed into college and a majority of them don’t really know what they are actually pursuing. This causes students to feel lost and disconnected from their colleges.  Based on this ongoing tragedy our goal is to come up with a life changing course that provides the available sources to help establish a pathway to success after college. So far me and group have been contacting through Whats app and for the most part we are all on topic.

So far I started to write my instruction manual on how to do a layup.  For now I feel like I have a solid introduction and I’ve started to describe several of the materials needed for the instructions. For my topic I feel like I don’t have much materials needed to get started so I went ahead and started to describe the whereabouts of the items. First material I mentioned was obviously a basketball then I continued to point out where can a person purchase a basketball. I’m hoping that was the expected approach for this assignment.  If so, I think I can move on and complete the rest of the manual. Also I’ve checked Google and found some useful images so my only worry is meeting the word limit.

When reading “The Checklist” I was very interested on how well it was written.  I got a sense of hope in our future reading the story because the idea of a checklist to help with consistency in lengthy and complicated procedures was such a bland but brilliant idea. Going further down the story I noticed the conflict of certain groups not wanting to invest into the idea and I felt a certain way about it.

I’m deciding whether to instruct how to either perform a layup, how to shoot, how to pass or how to play defense.  I’m stuck between doing just one specific instruction in basketball or attempt to combine both offensive and defensive strategies. Honestly I believe I can fit both offensive and defensive strategies into 1500 words by not using too much detailed instructions. Or can it be possible to provide heavy detailed instructions on how to perform a certain skill in various ways? Professor please advice.

I felt like I handled the extended definition essay pretty well. When I emailed you asking about how many peer reviewed journals I had to use and you told me at least 3, I admit I was a bit anxious because I handled the assignment fine with just two.  Honestly if I would’ve followed up with you constantly to get this assignment done I could’ve done so much better even though the process would’ve been ten times as tedious than before. Hopefully I didn’t make too many errors and I’ve made you proud.

So far I have not taken any midterms but I do have my first one next week.  I had two regular term exams this week. One was on economics and the other was on discrete structures and algorithms.  I feel like I’ve done well on both exams although I recall getting a few answers wrong on my economics exam. Besides how I’ve done on my past exams, this semester has been treated me fairly. I have no complaints so far as the teachers that I am interacting with and the work that is being assigned to me.

As I discussed with you earlier, I had to resubmit the 500 word summary to you in a Microsoft Word file so I didn’t receive any feedback on the assignment as of yet. After I had edited my assignment I feel like I did pretty well. Once I get feedback I will share my thoughts about the assignment.

The terminology that I decided to use was the Open Systems Interconnection Model (OSI Model). I chose this terminology remembering how many times it was pointed out in most of the previous CST classes I’ve taken. The process of find articles to work with was quite difficult but I’ve managed to come up with these three articles.

The article That’s What You Think  by Elizabeth Kolbert was boring at first because of how it started with the whole experiment and how the results came about. As I continued to read and take notes as you said I was beginning to understand the purpose of all the other experiments that the researchers conducted.  The main idea of reason and evidence not ultimately changing people minds really made me think about the truth that this article points out.
