Michael Brown’s Post on “That’s What You Think”

I found the article to be fascinating as it combined the finding of three research studiesĀ  and made an analogy to the Trump Administration in it’s conclusion. The article shows how easily people can be swayed and manipulated by other’s to form an opinionĀ and hold onto that opinion steadfast even when factual evidence proves them wrong. The article was also interesting when it divulges into the evolutionary theories of why we can be irrational, tracing it’sĀ origins to living in a communal society in wherein cooperation with other’s was a necessity.

Indirectly the article put’s a spotlight on our prejudices and unfounded fears about races and nationalities,Ā Holding onto those opinions even when there no rational or actual facts to support them and often contrary evidence is presented. Ā like the Trump Administration’sĀ  xenophobic, irrational fearmongering andĀ ignorance regarding immigrants and Mexicans.
