Procreate App

I am an illustrator and so far I have always used Illustrator Adobe and Core Drawn. But Procreate is another level. I can say that so far it is the best program or application to draw.

Procreate is a tool with which it is very easy to get along, especially if we already have previous experience in other drawing or image applications, such as Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop. Its interface is characterized by being very simplified and defined

Procreate iPad is like having your drawing studio close at hand. The simple fact of having an application this complete and professional allows any artist to continue its work from anywhere. If you draw and you love moving around.

Best Procreate Features:

  • Brushes and textures
  • Layers
  • Timelapse
  • Finger Movements
  • Letters and Typography

Highly recommended if you like to draw.

Prequel App

I really don’t like using photo filter apps or manipulating backgrounds in photos with these  apps. I have always used Photoshop. I think it is a powerful and very useful program for this type of work such as color retouching or manipulation.

But I changed my mind when using the Prequel app. It has a large number of filters and effects for all types of images not only for photos. It has a particular filter that is 3d to generate volume and perspective in the images.

I can say that it is very useful if we constantly work with social media platforms such as: Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, etc. This application relieves and optimizes our work because everything is instantaneous and predetermined.

First we choose the size where the image will be placed and then we add the effects or filters to the images to highlight the images and then proceed to upload the image to any of our social media that is already linked in the Prequel app.

Event Career at the United Nations

I have always wanted to work at the United Nations. I had the opportunity to attend this CUNY student event that discussed opportunities to work at the United Nations.
I can say that it was very informative. Above all, how to send the resume and the cover letter and the different titles that exist within the United Nations.
The key points of this meeting:
• Information and advice to apply for jobs and internships at the united nations
•  Websites
•  Types of personnel and personnel
•  Work experience requirements by professional level and higher categories
•  “Carl” model for answering competency-based interview questions
•  Work experience requirements per level in the professional and higher categories
Here is the Information link of the Career Event Brochure.
which can be very useful if someone wants to work or do an internship at the United Nations.

Celebrating Gordon Parks: Student Show

Clemson Brown – Train

I really like this illustration. It creates a sense of curiosity in me when I see it.
and at the same time I wonder if she is looking at me or what is she looking at?

I think the composition is incredible. The perspective, the lights and the contrast generate that enigmatic presence in the illustration. I wonder and is she waiting for someone or if she has another intention.

Learning 1

One of the things I learned is to value work and put a price on the things we do. Also value the time of the other people with whom we work.

In this intership I perform administrative tasks, as well as functions related to my specialty. Among the administrators I could say that it is to check the calendar to see the next events and the tasks related to my specialty have to do with graphic design, such as poster and website design.

My typical day in my internship starts by communicating with my supervisor and following directions on what we are going to work on such as: website design, posters or equipment maintenance.

Culture of Workplace

The culture of my workplace is casual, friendly and relaxed. I work from home and the clothes I wear are casual. My typical workday begins on weekends: Saturday and Sunday from 11am to 7pm.

I start the day by checking emails and comments. Confirming the calendar of the days that there will be livestream and designing the posters for instagram and uploading stories about the upcoming events. I also spend a couple of hours designing the website and sometimes maintaining the video cameras and turntables for the Twitch account when necessary.

I communicate with my supervisor by email and by face time. The programs I use are: Photoshop, indesign, and illustrator to design the posters and the website.
Also, OBS Studio to control cameras and twitch account when needed.

The Deep Groove

My first experience doing my internship in the deep groove was fascinating. It is a space for all music lovers and lovers of vinyl records, music collectors from all over the world. The space is virtual and is broadcast live almost every weekend on twitch and facebook live.
This time I had to design the flayer for the last event and help configure the turntable for the event.

The Emoji Story: A Documentary

Emoji have slowly infiltrated our modes of communication. Hearts, winking faces, and even fireworks are now part of our daily conversations: on Twitter, WhatsApp, our text messages and any other application that has a keyboard.

Unicode Consortium, this nonprofit organization is responsible for maintaining typed character encoding standards; therefore, Unicode is, in a way, the guardian of the current collection of emoji on your keyboard. They are the ones who decide what new emoji are added annually.

Between fascinating interviews with linguists, designers, emoji activists, and Unicode board members. This documentary follows attempts to gain acceptance for three new emoji, including a successful bid from a group of Argentines to get their beloved yerba mate. As Flor Coelho explains in the film, the caffeine-rich yerba mate drink is such a staple in her country that not a day goes by when she and her friends wish they could text each other with the emoji of yerba mate ”.

From designing the emoji and giving a presentation in Silicon Valley to worrying about internet commentators suggesting that users would simply use the yerba mate emoji as a substitute for a bong. finally, they would yell in celebration when they found out that their proposal had worked. Furthermore, just as the journey of the young girl who pushed for a Hijab emoji and the advocacy group who lobbied for a Period emoji, this documentary raises questions about the universalizing potential of these little pictorial representations.
