I personally really enjoyed working on Project 2 because there was a little more flexibility in what we were able to create. Interpreting a song on to paper via patterns and textures was a unique way to analyze a song. I usually don’t think much about how a song sounds, other than just “good” or “bad” but this project has helped me visualize what a feeling or a certain sound would look like. The song I chose has many contours(?) so over all there is a general sense of eb and flow. Curves and squiggles would be the best shape to illustrate this song. There is a light beat in the background, which can be seen in the more zig-zaggy/sharper patterns.

I learned that there needs to be many sketches and reiterations of a design before a final piece can be completed. I think it will be important for future projects to get as many ideas down on paper and then navigate the creative process from there. It has been helpful to see all my ideas laid out and then be able to piece together certain elements to make for a more cohesive end product.
