Global Pattern

By Alfonso Torres

You can find many patterns anywhere, with many cultures using patterns in their designs but the ones I’m most fond of are the patterns used in Mexico. When looking at the image above from Mexico the most common theme shown in the image is flowers or plants, mainly having a flower as the focal point with other elements having a plants and flowers theme following around it in a beautiful pattern gives the design a sense of unity. Being a pattern it also has symmetrical elements, for instance, if you flood the design vertically in half the design shown will be the same on the other side. Not only that, the design uses geo shapes for the circles and bio shapes shown in the leaves, roots, pellets, and others with a nice balance of red, blue, and yellow throughout the design that truly makes this pattern wonderful.
