How to kill a Shinigami
The only way to kill a Shinigami is to make them fall in love with a human. Shinigami named Jealous falls in love with one of the humans named Misa Amane. Being the god of death a Shinigami can see when the person is going to die. Since Jealous loved Misa, he killed her murderer by writing his name in his death note. By saving Misa’s life Jealous died. Abject being a relevant concept in this part of the episode. Shinigami falling in love with a human is abject, since abject is something we find repulsive. In the case of Jealous falling in love with Misa, we can observe how repulsive it looks when Shinigami falls in love with a human but love is something we understand. The perfect example of this would be an open wound, we find the wound repulsive but understand to why it occurred. If you observe Jealous carefully, his features are made out of dead and rotting corpses.
