Individual Strengths

My individual strengths include a strong academic background in math and science, an ability to remain calm in stressful or unexpected situations, and an appreciation for reading in my spare time.  I score well on standardized exams, and finished the NCLEX with 75 questions.  Nursing school exams did not stress me the way it seemed to for most people.  I felt in my element with fluids and electrolytes and medmath,  topics which aggravate many nursing students.  I read almost every article about healthcare that I come across in my spare time, and try to squeeze in as much reading as I can on my daily commutes.

I also have a high tolerance for grit. When I was a flight attendant, I regularly worked 19-hour shifts and would be on call for most days of the month, including nights and holidays.  I also worked directly with hundreds of customers a day, requiring much patience and adaptability.

Travelling in developing countries has also given me an appreciation for working in resource limited environments. Reducing waste and maximizing resources is also an area that interests me, and is very relevant in times of austerity and cost-containment.
