WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION

This workshop will prepare faculty members to co-lead CT101: Introduction to College, a new student workshop designed to enhance the college’s new student orientation with additional information, activities, and various opportunities to connect with faculty, staff, and current City Tech students. The workshop will explore a variety of college services and resources available to students during their transition to college, and specifically to City Tech.

WORKSHOP LEARNING OUTCOMES

Upon completion of this workshop, instructors will be able to:

  1. Provide students with introductory skills and institutional knowledge to ease their transition to college, and specifically to City Tech;
  2. Discuss resources available at the college and university in order to support students in their transition;
  3. Distinguish major degree offerings at the college in order to advise students;
  4. Identify and evaluate student needs and challenges.
