In the case and matter of where I would want to work, it arduously brung me to; working for a corporate or other business organization and that particular place would be the American District Telegraph or better known as ADT. Corporate Law for lawyers or better for Paralegals is fascinating because when you think about it, you’re in business for a business or by a business. There’s always a need for this branch of law which garnered my interest on a whole new level because just as people need representation, businesses who are though run by people(s) need it as well. It would actually tear me to assume an area of legal speciality like that of corporate law because I’d prefer to practice law in all of its categories and have it streamlined into various settings. However, money does talk and corporate law has gotten money written all over it and it pales in comparison to being employed by law firm (for example) whether it be small or large because companies tend to hire ‘in house’ attorneys via paralegals to conduct these legal works allowing the paralegal business itself to grow in itself to flourish and businesses like ADT are hiring at an exponential rate for legal services.

ADT has been in the business of helping save lives since 1874. They acclaim the number one spot of smart home securing (systems) in the US as they protect and connect families, businesses and larger commercial customers every day. Just based on that being their company overview, it was compelling to know that I can be helping a helper who’s so committed to offering their best assistance in their product field. For paralegals, they deploy a versatile set of tasks given by the Team Manager, Legal and the Vice President and Deputy General Counsel and Corporate and Securities compliance. Others include; record management, liaising with internal business partners, and miscellaneous administrative tasks. After doing some research on the internet, I’ve decided I would like to work for the company of Cooley LLP.  According to it’s Wikipedia page, Cooley’s headquarter is located in Palo Alto, California.  Cooley has different offices in other locations, which include big cities and overseas.  I would like to work in the office here in New York City.  The address of the office is 55 Hudson Yards New York, NY 10001.  The company is a large firm that specializes variety of laws.  For example, Cooley offers help in corporate, litigation, regulatory, and intellectual property.  The reason I chose this company, is because the specializiation in corporate law.  Another reason, since it’s a big commpany with many different offices, there is a chance i could relocate to a different city or country.  But the office here in New York City, is loctaed in a great area.

The organization I would ultimately like to work for is the New York Legal Assistance Group (NYLAG). This organization deals with several areas of law such as: immigration, employment, family and even criminal.  I have personally had this organization represent me in a personal matter and I was totally impressed by the level of professionalism, care and attention my matter received from everyone that was involved.  It blew me away, because while I knew I was not the only client I was treated as such.  As I embark on my studies, I reflect on where my skills and talents would be most useful and this organization immediately comes to mind.  Employment with the NYLAG will allow me to utilize my skill set as a paralegal but it would simultaneously afford me with the opportunity to give back to society.

I would like to work at the Manhattan district attorney’s office because I have always been really into criminal Law and want to prosecute criminals. I may have got that passion from watching law and order too much, but I can see myself doing that and being passionate about it. I think the victim’s getting justice is the biggest reward in criminal law. Being able to help the victim get justice and holding a criminal accountable is one of the best things you can do on earth to help the human population. I would like to work at Phillips & Associates, Attorneys at Law, PLLC because they help victims of discrimination and sexual assault. I’m also heavily against inappropriate actions in the workplace. I would like to work in the legal aid society (Civil Practice) because I would love to help people who can’t afford a lawyer and people who are in of help because they are homeless. Civil practices gives help to low income people who can’t afford a lawyer. I would like to try working at the Legal Aid Society in the Reforming Law Policy department or the Employment Law Unit. Policy is what shapes society. It would be interesting to work towards making those policies more just and more useful to everyone. Employment Law would be interesting as well, as many times employers try to steal labor from workers, which is not right. The Legal Aid Society describes a case in which workers were not paid for their work, sometimes for years, but they were able to get them the wages they were owed. It’s not fair to take advantage of people who were just trying to work.   

The Legal Aid Society has an office at 111 Livingston Street, but they are located all over the city as well.  They are a large organization with many job openings as well, according to the Jobs page on their website.

Im interested in working in this law office because it specializes in helping with immigration. Helping families getting that opportunity to see each other again is something that I would do as a career later in life. The law office is in New York and now in Philadelphia. This law office has four and a half stars with great reviews and happy clients. If I work here i’d gain so much experience as a future attorney.
