When going through the reading, it’s interesting to learn about how inspirations from designs are always being brought out differently. Of course it’s one thing to be inspired about art, however, I wouldn’t really think about how common it is to actually take someone else’s work and put it as your own. I always wonder if using a method like that is actually a good thing? Especially when you look at regular/not well known designers having there work being used without permission, I believe it’s actually pretty scary. It’s almost as if you can never do anything with your art because people would always try to work there way around your work.

As a person like myself who always follows a lot of artist on social media, I have come to witness on those several occasions where I see a work from an artist that I like that has there work stolen such as being traced over, using it to sell merchandise, etc. To me, it’s pretty sad the way these folks are treating artist. Us artist deserves to be recognize as real workers too. It’s such a weird thing to see how dedicated these folks are to going the extra step in wanting to devalue their work. Especially when it comes down to not creating anything original anymore.

To take inspiration from an artist is always a good thing. Being able to become inspired by there work is pretty much the type of drug an artist needs in order to let their creative mode start flowing. When we post art on social media, we have to factor in so much. We also have to understand that situations like this is too common which is pretty disappointing. With so many different kinds of art out there, I’m still certain that we have original arts.

When taking a look at the reading, there has been several terms of words that I haven’t fully understand, however, I was able to look them up and try to paraphrase it to better understand the meaning behind it. Other then that, the reading wasn’t too much of a burden to deal with.

In the reading The Medium is the Massage: An Inventory of Effect by McLuhan and Fiore, McLuhan describes technology and media as “extensions of man.” When I read the words of how McLuhan describes technology and media, I actually find it quite interesting how McLuhan uses that fraise in describing. I don’t think I ever heard of such a fraise like that before. When I think about the media extending on an individual or society in general, it always reminds me of how people from the 20th century get their media to how we normally do now. For instance, you get people from the beginning of the 20th century that relies on newspapers, radios, telephones and of course people themselves. While we as a modern society still carry these pioneered tools, we have developed and advanced so much when it comes to the media that it’s mind boggling. I know the most popular technology that pretty much everyone owns are cellphones, computers and televisions. Of course with every new upgrade comes with an invisible hazard. The kind of hazards that technology progress brings to an individual or society is being addicted, dependent and even use it for the wrong reasons. We all know that technology is one of the greatest and deadliest inventions to ever exists. While most people know how to use it the right way, unfrankly, they’re those who gets sucked into it and even use it for the wrong reasons.

The role that artists and designers can play in when it comes to creating new messages is to be able to come up with ideas that can help society navigate with technology in a more healthy relationship kind of way. For instance, sometimes you may stumble medias that aren’t the greatest or even the design of the website itself makes it hard to even use. As artists and designers, we have the ability to improve what and how society consumes their media in a more realistic and creative way. Just look back during the late 20th century all the way up until now. Look how much technology has changed in terms of the visual aspect. Especially when it comes to the home computers. We went from have a simple text base webpage to have these awesome website designs that artists and designers has done for us. Being able to have those kind of create people in our human race is truly a blessing.

The work of a designer distribute information by being able to use the world wide web as an outsource to communicate with the people. They pretty much go to any outsource that allows them to distribute information such as social media which plays a huge factor in terms of reaching out to people. Designers also likes to go on websites that are specific platforms that suits them. Think of it as a way where they can showcase their portfolio and to provide their contact information and all those other good stuffs that have to offer.

According to the three designers in the articles, an individual should be able to design an art that’s visually appealing, interesting and has key elements that makes the overall work a success. When it comes to being a designer, you have the ability to create a work that can have any sort of meaning behind it. Your message doesn’t necessarily have to be direct. For the most part, your message can either be crystal clear or even complex. What makes the design unique is being able to decide where you want to place your illustrations, text, etc. You can get any sort of outcomes depending on the placement. However, the designers in the articles mentioned about systematic approach towards the work. It’s very important for a designer to be systematic when it comes to their work mainly because it helps coming up with the work idea a lot more better and convenient too.

When it comes to being a designer, it’s more then just simply being creative. You have to plan things out from start to finish. You have to come up with a lot of ‘behind the scenes’ in order for the work to be good. For instant, when planning out a said project or task, the first thing you should do is to write down any ideas that comes to you. Think of it as a mind map where you just simply brainstorm and have a lot of ideas on paper. That can help a lot to get the engine going. You also need to focus on the theme of the project or task and consider on how the design layout is going to be such as the size, the colors, the text, etc. Being a designer in general can be so beneficial and challenging at the same time.

Overall, when it comes to creating, the sky’s the limit. Their isn’t any kind of rule at all expect for one which is to always do your research in advanced. The reason why you should always do the research is mainly because it’ll help you a lot on the long run. It’s also good to try out other forms of designs. It can actually help your work develop better as you get a hold on different forms of art.

Based on the readings that are from architects, designers and artist, the role that typography and photography should really play in shaping new art is most likely a pretty big role. The reason why both typography and photography should play a huge role is mainly because when it comes to shaping new art, typography and photography would most likely do well in that category. When it comes to typography, being able to see designs where you get to see the many kinds of font style is not only cool, but important too. Typography in general is being able to communicate using words and being able to use typography in designs is very important. When it comes to photography, I believe the name speaks for itself. Photography has been around for a very long time and has been very important to history in general especially in the design world. Despite photography being in a hot debate whether it’s a real art form or not, photography is in a fact part of the creative aspect. With that being said, both typography and photography are indeed capable of shaping new art form for the better.

When it comes to the design world, the roles that both language and communication plays in art and design is always going to be the main focus. For instance, art and designs comes in many different shapes, sizes, style, etc. Some like to be more upfront about it, some like to say a few things, and then we have those that doesn’t say anything at all. It’s always fascinating to see how language and communication works in the art and design world. Both language and communications in general have there own ways of speaking to the viewers which is why that are always the most important aspect when it involves itself to art and design.

Artist should be able to approach the creation of future art forms by observing what is being shown. For instant, if an artist is observing an artwork and they aren’t too sure on what they are seeing, perhaps they shouldn’t question it so much? Maybe the artwork that they are looking specifically is talking to them in a way that they have yet to understand. Sometimes, artworks in general can be hard to figure out at times, however they shouldn’t be seen as any less compared to those that are more reasonable to understand. The sky is the limit so art can be just about anything and everything.
