PACKAGING DESIGN
Course Description
Graphic and structural aspects of packaging design and production. Expand on the knowledge of the consumer and target audiences by analyzing the emotional value of color and it effects on purchasing. Students use research methods to persuade and inform new and existing audiences. They produce a Design Brief that is a culmination of their creative thinking, analysis, planning and final product development.
Learning Outcomes
For the successful completion of this course, students should be able to:
- Design and produce three-dimensional comprehensives and digital mechanicals.
- Define and describe characteristics of a successful package design.
- Define and describe needs and desires of a specific demographic or target audience.
- Define and describe perceived benefit of a specific package design for a target audience.
