Project #2: texture recognition and ways of organizing it. An exploration.
Use the frame you have cut from the index card to act as a guide for the 1” x 1.25” unit from the magazine selections you make.
Place them on the hand out grid to decide how you will arrange them. Craft counts!
Please perfect your cutting skills with this.
Discuss your choices in arrangement with your neighbor before making a final decision.
Draw the grid on a piece of Bristol paper that is 6” wide x 7” high. Be sure you draw with a sharpened pencil lightly on the page.
Transfer the cut papers unit by unit, gluing them down once you have made your decisions for the location and type of texture.
Keep a list of your reasons for the selections:
– color what about the color
– scale of the texture
– contrast of color (or lack of it)
– have you been able to disguise what the photographed texture is?
– what would you like to do differently in the next one?
– how rough how smooth is the texture?
