Clinical Experience: September 2009 – December 2011

Lincoln Medical Center, Burke Rehabilitation Center, Mount Sinai Hospital, Westchester Medical Center – Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital, Jacobi Medical Center – Women’s Health and Maternity and Neonatal Care
During my clinical rotation, I performed physical assessments (all body systems) that included obtaining vital signs and patient history and documented findings treatment rendered and outcome.  Collected specimen samples for urinalysis and guaiac testing.  Administered medication (all routes of administration), immunizations and medication reconciliation.  Performed wound care, urinary catheterization, suctioning and “ostomy” care.  Managed chest tubes and wound vacuums, compression stockings and an assortment of assessment equipment such as blood pressure machines, glucose monitoring equipment.  Patient teachings regarding the disease process and adverse affects of prescribed medications; patient teaching also included creating therapeutic activities for the mentally disabled and individuals who were dealing with addiction.

Assist the Chief of Commissioning Services in maintaining accurate job charges for various projects, calculate hours required for staff to work on various CPM construction projects.  Maintain calendar; coordinate meetings and all travel arrangements. Department training and move liaison coordinating all training and move requirements between employee and respective departments.  Initiate Task Orders through the BSC for additional temporary staffing required for various CPM projects.  Reconcile contractor charges and review for accuracy prior to distribution of payment. Generate weekly reports (station closings, service interruptions, awarded contracts, etc.) and monthly safety reports for distribution to the Senior Vice President.  Perform various administrative functions and support for departments.

Assisted in the development and maintenance of administrative and budget information systems; which included a database to track FMLA participants with links to Excel, the preparation of weekly employee Out-of-Service and Incumbent Reports, and monthly Procurement card and fuel reconciliation reporting purposes.  Appointed department liaison between the medical assessment unit and FMLA participants.
