Its effective in the way that it takes clips from its many cinematic trailers in order to make it seem like an epic movie the players can be the protagonist in.
ASSIGNMENT 6
My idea is to use everyday life situations in a setting of Star Wars. It is original because while most commercials on the matter pertain to just the battle aspect of the franchise my idea will have more typical situations in accordance that in the game you can be who you want and can make your own choices as if you were actually a part of the movies yourself. I plan on taking certain subjects from the film and adding them to everyday life.
I am targeting teenagers and young adults, mostly men but some woman included from ages 16 to 25. They love the movie franchise, love playing video games and the sci fi genre, most of them go to school and or work. The game was developed by Bioware in which Star Wars The Old Republic was its first MMOG but it’s parent company is EA which has a net income of 875 million dollars.
ASIGNMENT 5
MMOG
A massively multiplayer online game is an online game which is capable of supporting large numbers of players simultaneously in the same world. MMOs usually feature a huge persistent open world but some do not. These games can be found for most network-capable platforms such as personal computers, video game consoles, smartphones and other mobile devices.
MMOs allow players to cooperate and compete with each other on a large scale, and sometimes to interact meaningfully with people around the world. However single player in MMOs is quite viable, especially in what is called ‘player vs environment’ gameplay. They include a variety of gameplay types, representing many video game genres.
STAR WARS: The Old Republic
Star Wars: The Old Republic is a massively online roleplaying game based in the Star Wars universe. Developed by BioWare Austin and a supplemental team at BioWare Edmonton, the game was first announced on October 21, 2008, at an invitation-only press event. The video game was released for the Microsoft Windows platform on December 20, 2011 in North America and part of Europe. Early access to the game began one week before release, on December 13, 2011, for those who had pre-ordered the game online; access opened in “waves” based on pre-order date.
Although not officially disclosed, based on estimates, it is one of the most developmentally expensive games ever made. The game had one million subscribers within three days of its launch, making it the world’s “fastest-growing MMO ever”, though in the following months the game lost a fair share of its subscriptions. The game has since adopted the hybrid free to play business model with remaining subscription option. The game was met with positive reception upon release and has received several updates and expansion packs. Several books and comics based on the game have been released. It is estimated that the game made $139 million in additional revenues, in addition to the subscription income, in 2013.
