J.Eng: Selfie restrictions

The existence of the ‘selfie’ is understandable due to our generation’s obsession with social acceptance and our innate need for attention. I would claim that selfies are an integral part of our online social structures. However, there is a time and place for our insistent need to take these self-portraits, and ways to do so safely. Saying that restrictions need to be imposed would be going a bit far, but there certainly is an appeal to the idea. That being said, there is no possible way to monitor how our generation takes selfies. Rules being broken or ignored will remain a universal truth. It all stems back to the raising of our children and the teaching of the, surprisingly uncommon, common sense. Idiots will continue to be idiots, documenting whatever dangerous acts to garner attention. We just have to hope our children or close ones are smart enough to prioritize their safety over the impulsive need to share.
