Design 6- Day 1 Activities

Welcome to the first day of class.
Today we will complete a series activities that will help us to get to know
each class member as an individual, will help us to form our project teams
and will create a portrait of our entire class.  You should have already received an email giving you access to the MIRO.com board for day 1.

Activity 1: (As an individual)

Create a graphic boards by collecting images.  Include images that represent both  your personal interests and your architectural interests.  Keep these boards anonymous so be careful not to include any images that can only be identified with you.  Claim a board by putting an image onto it.

We will discuss and these boards as a way to learn more about each other.

Activity 2: (As a team member)

Working with the individual boards we will look to group these together to form
3 separate teams.  We will mix and match them without knowing who they belong to.

Once the groupings are complete, we will reveal the members of each team.  Next the team members will conduct short interviews of each other.  It helps to agree to 2 or 3 questions.  Based on the interviews write a short description of your team member.  Consider what you would say if you wanted to brag about your team – what is each of you good at and secondly what would each of you most like to learn this semester.

Compose one a team board.  On this board include a photo of
each member, your names along with your brief interview paragraph.

Activity 3: (As a class)

Work together to compose a single board for the entire class.
Keep the teams clear on the board and include photos of your two co-instructors.

Posting:

Export and post all three boards on OpenLab.  They should all be tagged
with the categories Day-1 and a category for each individual
and a category for your team (1,2,3).
These categories have already been created for you.
