Description of Presentation

EACH OF YOU MUST DO YOUR OWN WORK AND DEVELOP YOUR OWN WALL SECTIONS.  THESE PRESENTATIONS SHOULD BE COMBINED INTO A SINGLE POWER-POINT FOR EACH TEAM РBUT AGAIN THESE ARE INDIVIDUAL PRESENTATIONS AND EVERYONE MUST PRESENT!

The focus of this presentation is for each of you to help develop wall sections for your buildings.  You will be transferring your research to a series of well developed wall sections in Revit.

Include information in the following order :

  1. From Revit make a building section of your building and put this on a sheet.  From this building section create callouts for the wall sections and put these on a sheet.  Eventually these sheets will become your detailed wall sections
  2. Include some 3D images of your building to add context. These can be from the original images from the Student Architect
  3. Include images from existing buildings that show what you intend to create Рhow you want it to look.  It is unlikely you will find a single building that matches what you are looking to do Рso you will likely be showing a collage of images from different projects Рthat show what you intend to be your wall section
  4. Include details by searching doing google searches Рand try to explain how you will assemble your building.  Highlight on each detail the portions that apply to what you are trying to do
  5. Include questions or things you need to figure out.  It is OK to show partial wall sections of things you are still figuring out Рmore is better as we are running out of time to ask questions.
  6. In the end for your final presentation (not for this week) I want you each to focus on the process of building – how the wall section is assembled – in what order and produce some drawings to explain this. ¬†You may consider doing an exploded isometric similar to the way we did the “Orient to View” in the Scavenger Hunt Assignment.

Mid Semester Drawing Set

Next Monday April 4th I will ask student to submit a mid-semester drawing set for review.  This set will include as a minimum, Structural floor plans, Architectural floor plans, Building Elevations, Building Sections & Wall Section Details.

This week it is important you begin the process of sheet layout for all of these drawings so we can discuss them during the second class meeting of this week.

If your grids are rotated you need to orient these properly to the horizontal format of the sheet. ¬†You may also find a need to created “duplicate as dependent” views if your plans need to span more than one page.

Remember sheets size is 22 x 34 – and modify the titleblock with your photo and other team information.
