In our fourth semester in the Dental hygiene program me and 5 of my classmates did a community project on Educating New Parents about Oral health for Newborns. As students, we get a lot of patients that are parents and we saw a pattern where parents are not really aware that newborns and young children can have oral health problems if they don’t have proper oral hygiene. So when the opportunity came around we were very excited to be able to give back to the community and help new parents by educating them on different risk factors and benefits of a good or bad oral health.
