CircleIn is available to all CIty Tech students in fall 2021

Good news! CircleIn, the NSF funded App which connects every student with their classmates and creates a virtual space where students can study, collaborate, communicate, and brainstorm together, will continue to be available to all City Tech students in fall 2021. With online instruction, creating study groups is more difficult – the CircleIn App reduces this challenge. The focus is on peer-to-peer support, so CircleIn does not need to be managed by faculty. However, faculty can monitor the course website, view student activity, and see if there are things that their students are struggling with.

To learn more about CircleIn, I encourage you to visit the Faculty Resource Hub and the Faculty Welcome Guide.

Students will only benefit from CircleIn if they use it. Hearing about CircleIn from you will help with adoption.  You may wish to share the link to the 5-minute introductory video with your students.

Through an NSF grant there is no cost to the college or students for the scale-up to make the App available to all students. Special thanks to Dean Vazquez-Poritz for bringing CircleIn to City Tech and to Judy Rockway, director of the Atrium Learning Center, for coordinating the launch.

connect day – new student welcome!

On Thursday, September 2nd from 12:45-2:00pm, all academic programs are sponsoring  Connect Day New Student Welcome for new students.  During these online sessions, new students will meet faculty, student leaders and peers from their department to learn about department expectations, opportunities, and how to plan their academic goals. As the name suggests, this is a chance for new students to learn valuable information and make important connections!

We encourage new freshmen and transfer students to attend your program’s session, see link below.  Special thanks to the Student-Ready College committee faculty liaisons for compiling this information. Students who have not declared a major should be encouraged to explore programs they are considering.
