The organization that I’m interning for is a well-established public educational organization based in Brooklyn, New York. They have been operating since 1881 and have continued their main focus in promoting an amazing college experience. The organization has been through many changes in its long time of being open such as having its name changed several times and establishing new departments allowing for students to choose their own paths. The organization has achieved multiple milestones in its time being open and a historical milestone has to be what it did for female students in 1965, which was making its doors available for female students to achieve higher education. They have also made some new milestones in recent years such as introducing 2 programs that would allow students to get their bachelor’s degree from the school without having to transfer. The 2 programs that were introduced were the BFA in Communication Design and the 5-year BArch for Architect students.
Those were only the major milestone they accomplished but they also renovated department sections and even have gone as far as constructing a new building to allow students to continue achieving higher altitudes in their career fields. Found out more information about the structural and fundamental purpose for the development of the new building. The article was written by Issuu and it talked about how this was to improve the gateway of the campus allowing for faster access and easier routes for students to get to class. It also talks about all the different sections of the facility such as a new theater, new labs, and more access to equipment.
