My name is Allyse Merz and I’m currently a sophomore in the Communication Design program. I’m interested in layout and magazine design. My favorite program to work in is Adobe InDesign, but I am proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop as well. I’d like to end up designing for a fashion magazine after I graduate, and eventually transition into art direction. I’m drawn to simple and minimal design, but also enjoy doing texture-heavy pieces that showcase my collaging skills. I’m currently working on a personal fashion zine that I would like to eventually publish.
I’m employed by Quinn, a fashion & lifestyle brand located on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. I am the graphic designer and work part time as a sales associate in-store, as well. Quinn is minimalistic and clean, which is something I mimic in my designs for the company. I am responsible for creating and designing e-mail blasts, business cards, lookbooks, etc…
