31 Questions Response

What do you consider to be your weaknesses?

This question particularly gets challenging for me. How is one suppose to project their weaknesses without seeming to be a misfit for a job? Where’s the hold off in saying too much?

Tell me about a challenge or conflict you’ve faced at work, and how you dealt with it.

It is fairly easy to bring up situations and moments where I stepped in and I took charge. From any of my past and present workplace, their was always a moment that I was presented with much more responsibilities to test how much I can handle.

Summary

These job listings need candidates that are proficient in programming in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office. Immediate employers need to have candidates attentive to details and deadlines. I noticed that also employers make it very vital that there candidates must be able to work with other employees. A cooperative workplace is very important for any business.

“Must be able to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive matters, show good judgment and discretion, have an ability to work well with others and under pressure, demonstrate positive and helpful demeanor, be a self-starter that demonstrates initiative regarding assignments and can be flexible with changing priorities and duties. Ideal candidate will be interested in a future in this field.”

Most jobs also need a cover letter from there candidates. Also, many jobs require having 2-3 years of experience. My only question is how does one acquire a job if so many employers require people with experience?

Jobs in my ideal profession make it very important to be able to communicate in professional terms and vocabulary.

“Communication Skills: Effective written and verbal skills, ability to interpret
instructional documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.”

It is vital for my profession that an employee is able to read blueprints and interpret the construction of job sites. It is also important to know different units of increments of specific construction.

My education at city tech only gives me the foundation of the art world. So far, I have been able to develop a understanding of specific programming. But working in the field as a intern Production Designer, I’m exposed to clients and specific needs of what they need and desire in the industry. I learn appropriate methods of construction and even strategic ways of handling a project. Not to mention, learning the tricks and shortcuts in programming. Thus, being in city tech, I am able to take my lessons as an artist and my teachings at work as a production designer, I am able to see both sides and people already in the industry. It’s a personal goal of mine to essentially control both sides of the industry as a marketing and industrial designer.
