Proposal Outline: Elevators Are Too Crowded

Executive Summary: Due to CRAZY amount of traffic in CityTech, students are faced with being on line for numerous minutes causing students to be late for class! A solution to this problem is to develop multiple ways to have students travel up and down the building.
    • Escalators
    • Slide Tubing

    Statement of Need/Problem:
    • Students are responsible for what time they get to class. Blaming the elevators isn’t a solution for being marked late in your class. We need more methods of getting to class!
    • Elevators are overwhelmingly crowded, resulting students to take the stairs.

    Population to be served:
    • 5,529 admitted freshmen
    • 3,358 enrolled students
    • 1,900 transfer students
    • 1,350 transfer students admitted
    • Not addressing any handicap students

    Project Overview:
    • Integrated the escalators to have students go up & down
    • To have students use escalators for lower levels where as students going to high level floors use the elevators
    • Slides used to go down

    Expected Barriers/Challenges:
    • Engineering the slides
    • Cost
    • Students being comfortable about using slides
    • Safety
    • Construction of escalators
    • Installation and Design

    Project Outcomes:
    • Students will not be delayed
    • No traffic in between classes

    Project Budget: N/A
