I took this photo when my grandfather had passed away from cancer. I was wearing a hijab out of respect during the funeral because it’s mandatory. I had my face turned because of my puffy red eyes, tears, and mascara running down my face. The grass was moist when I ran my fingers through it. This day was a life changing experience because it was a day where I had felt like I lost everything I had. The day I decided to wear the hijab. I took it off after two weeks because I didn’t feel myself in it. One thing i can say is it got me closer to my family and religion.
