Unphotographable

This is a picture I did not take of a young girl kneeling over a dead bird in front of a laundromat on Knickerbocker Avenue in Bushwick, Brooklyn.  The bird was this amazing green color, kind of a tropical emerald green, and it was quite small and delicate looking.  It also, I think, had a few electric yellow spots on it and maybe one or two very thing black stripes that looked almost like marks from an eyeliner.  As the girl looked up, I noticed from her face that she had Down Syndrome and was very concerned and somewhat confused by the death of the bird.
