About Us,
As the members of the Yellow Jackets: Student Pioneers for Leadership, we have always been characterized for our dedication to help individuals to become the best version of themselves. We strongly believe that advocating, mentoring, motivating, and empowering others is the right way to lead.
Our team is conformed of four members. Ouri Alkada, Marvin Laboriel, Khairul Chowdhury, and Adrian Martinez Zuniga. This group came together by luck in an technical writing English course. We created a project with the ideal of making a small difference in New York City College of Technology.
Our project is called Blueprint:My Road to Professional Success. The objective of this initiative is to increase our graduation rates by helping students to craft a detailed plan for their academic success. For the most part a great percentage of the students are leaving high school and entering college with dreams in their heads and full of hopes, but sometimes that is not enough. Students need to transpose their abstract dreams into concrete goals. Unfortunately, according to the FACTS 2016-2017, New York City College of Technology’s graduation rate is very low.
Therefore, we are proposing the creation of the Blueprint: My Road to Success course. Where the student will have the opportunity to create a step by step road to his or her own success. In this ePortfolio, you will find the breakdown of this proposal.
