Discount Tickets to LDV Vision Summit

The VR & AI Club has been offered discount student ($25) and educator ($100) tickets to the LDV Vision Summit, “the premier global gathering in visual tech.”  Please email us or comment below BY APRIL 18th for more info.

Free Amazon Sumerian Bootcamp

Amazon AWS is offering a free bootcamp on 3/18.

“With Amazon Sumerian, you can create and publish augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR) and 3D applications without needing specialized programming or 3D graphics expertise… Participants in this bootcamp will learn how to get started with Amazon Sumerian and receive support while they work on creating their own applications.”

Spring 2019 Announcements

Welcome to the 2019 Spring semester!

The VR & AI Club has been active in club operations and have the following announcements:

  • We have been working on securing some semi-permanent space for our club for VR play with our Vive headset – pending some orders and space setup, we hope to be ready by the end of the month; please join our OpenLab group for updated announcements.
  • We are currently looking for members interested in Club Officer positions, especially as our current Officers are graduating seniors – please reach out to our President Liza Chiu or Vice President Rangel Robinson if you are interested.
  • We will have a table at the Club Involvement Fair this Thursday, 2/7 12:45-2:15 in the Library Ground Floor. Drop by if you’re interested in meeting us and learning about our current club activities.
  • New events have been added, please check out our Events page.

Midterm Week & VR Expo Meetup Deets

Hi everyone,

We will NOT be having a meeting tomorrow because of midterms, but you are welcome to come in and work on our VRL project and play with the headsets. Rangel will be around to make sure you have access to everything.

FYI, RLab just launched today at the Brooklyn Navy Yard! “Once completed, the RLab will house 16,500 square feet of co-working labs, classrooms, studios, and provide over 750 good-paying jobs.”
