Another patient I’ve seen during my second semester in the program was NH. NH is in good health and was not taking any medications or supplements. When taking her history, NH’s chief complaint was her supernumerary molar causing her discomfort. A secondary issue she had was that she did not have a dental cleaning for several years leading her to build up heavy calculus. My challenge for her was that her calculus was very deep and her gingival was very tight, which made it hard to remove efficiently.
