Hi, my name is Victoria Hsu and I was born and raised in Taiwan where I came from a graphic design background. I immigrated to the United States in 2008 originally to pursue my design studies. However, ever since getting my dental checkup I discovered the field of dental hygiene. There are no dental hygienist position in Taiwan so learning about it in America really intrigued me.
After learning about this field, I dig into more research and thought it would be fitting for me to become a dental hygienist, as I care about dental health and enjoy working with my hands. Upon starting my studies at New York City College of Technology, I realized my intuition was correct! I love what I do as a dental hygienist student. I always wanted to help people and I find I can do that by performing oral examinations, x-rays, scaling, as well as educating and promoting the importance of dental health to the public.
