Welcome to the homepage of this site.

WE WILL BE USING THIS SITE FOR ALL OF OUR ASSIGNED WORK IN THIS COURSE.  PLEASE READ BELOW TO FIND OUT WHERE TO LOCATE EVERYTHING THAT YOU NEED ON THE SITE.  ALL COURSE MATERIALS ARE INCLUDED HERE.

This is a collaborative space for City Tech faculty participating in the Open Educational Resources (OER) Fellowship and is open to anyone interested in OERs and open (digital) pedagogy. Participants will learn about open educational resources (OER), the principles of open pedagogy, and applicable strategies to create OERs. Topics will cover Creative Commons licensing, intellectual property, resources to help locate discipline specific OERs, and strategies to generate cohesive and engaging course materials.

By the end of these seminars, you will be able to define open educational resources and open education, distinguish open educational materials with free materials, interpret and select Creative Commons licenses in the context of OER adoption and creation, find, evaluate, and select OERs, understand how accessibility, instructional design, and usability best practices improve OERs, implement strategies to incorporate dynamic pedagogical material including a variety of content formats (video, image, sound).

You can find all the readings you need for each week under the readings dropdown menu.  Important information for the site contains the syllabus, information about grading and other policies, and information about how to avoid plagiarism.  What we’re doing includes a weekly schedule as well as assignments you can download as pdf.
