The SVA program stands for Success Via apprenticeship. Participants of the SVA program work for approximately three years within their field through internships. This work experience is acquired in three one-year sessions, free to the employer through the DOE (the DOE pays SVA’s throughout the program). Participants also gain experience teaching in their field at public CTE (career technical education) high schools. Participants are required to teach cumulatively for two years in these public high schools. While in the program, SVA’s also work toward obtaining a bachelor degree in CTE education. Each SVA has a different specialization field. I specialize in the Electronics Technology/Robotics CTE field.
More information can be found on the SVA Website.
