My name is Tomeshwar Ramchan and I am a ComD student at City Tech. To write about myself is one thing I don’t like to do, but I know under some circumstances I have to. I am an artist. I am a musician. I am a hard worker and a good person. I am the type of person to never say ” I don’t know how to do this”. I am the person that would tell you ” I don’t know how to do this but I can learn to do this in the best possible way”. There are many people in this world that I know are better than me in the things I have a passion for, and there are many people that are below me, But I believe that being ” better or worse” is not a term when it comes to art. Everyone is unique in their own way, yes!
I am a son to two lovely parents, a younger sister and older brother, if they would write this section ” About me” they would say I am built different. It is because I’ve heard them say this over and over again. My father would tell me ” I am proud of you because when I look at you, I see a mature young man who already seen the world, Good and Bad. You are a young man who dealt with your own issues on your own and we seen you get out of difficult situations that I am not even strong enough to do”. My mother would tell me ” I am proud of you my son, you have learned the ability to never let the world control you, but you control the world. you have made us proud this far and I know you will in the future. when I look at you I see a man who is loving and puts everyone who he loves first, and then thinks about himself second.”
I am a son to two Guyanese parents who struggled there entire life for me to live and see another day tomorrow. I will be the first person in my family to receive a college diploma, And when I do i know I will make them proud. What my parents did for me is irreplaceable and I owe them that much to make them feel that they have a son who conquered the giant.
A little bit more about me…I am a Christian. I Put God before anything I do because My God is the reason why I am still holding on strong. I am a Musician, I love to play the piano and I would also play the piano for my church some days. I love old school music, especially Jazz. Reason why I love jazz so much is because it is what makes me feel calm when I walk the streets in Manhattan, when I do homework and I have a lot on my plate, jazz is always there to tell me “All will be okay, just listen to me”. Jazz Is more than just instruments playing in a beautiful rhythm, to me…Jazz is somehow a Guardian angle.
I love fitness. For some odd reason I want to know that if I am strong then no one can take advantage of myself. There are many bullies in this world and me being a strong individual gives me peace at mind. Although I am a person who hates fights and choses to talk instead of getting physical. God says to love your enemies as how God loves you. What God is trying to say is, because God is a forgiving God…no one is perfect and everyone has flaws. To say you hate a person means you already killed them in your heart. It is better to Love someone with your heart even though your enemy does not.
Love your enemies…I am TJTEARS…This means (T)he (J)ovial (T)hinker (E)volves (A)round (R)ebellious (S)miles. This name I have created is a definition of the art I want to portray out into this world of ours. Like I said my parents told me they see become strong when it came to difficult situations, and that’s because I have seen too many things in this world that aren’t that great. I am glad that I have gone through a lot because I have learned through many experiences, and because of all my experiences I have learned the right way to deal with most situations.
