The workplace culture at Hi-Tech Metals is professional yet informal, reflecting the hands-on and collaborative nature of the metal fabrication industry. The dress code is generally casual and practical, as most employees work in a production and fabrication environment. Workers typically wear comfortable clothing such as work pants, boots, and company shirts suitable for a manufacturing setting. As a social media intern, I dress in neat, casual attire that is appropriate for both an office and shop environment while maintaining a professional appearance.
The typical employee workday begins in the morning and follows regular business hours, with employees focusing on fabrication projects such as welding, machining, and assembly throughout the day. There is a scheduled coffee break for everyone in the building from 9:45 to 10:00 a.m., which gives employees time to rest and socialize before returning to work. Lunch is taken from 12:20 to 1:00 p.m., allowing workers to recharge before continuing their tasks for the afternoon. Communication within the workplace is direct and collaborative.
My supervisor and team members usually communicate with me in person on the shop floor or through quick check-ins to discuss which projects should be documented and posted on social media. This helps me stay informed and ensures that the content I create accurately represents the company’s work. To manage content and projects, I use social media platforms and editing tools to organize, create, and schedule posts. Overall, the culture at Hi-Tech Metals is hardworking and team-oriented, with a strong emphasis on craftsmanship, efficiency, and clear communication among employees.
