Abstract

Italy is part of the G7 and European Union, which means it’s among the wealthiest nations and it is classified as a politically stable country, good for business development and international e-commerce. According to the World Bank, “Italy ranks 72 in political stability six positions ahead of the United States. Recently the pandemic posed a threat to Italy’s political and economic stability” (BBC, 2021). The method of market entry will be exporting that way the risk is very low and we would be able to produce our products in the U.S and sell them in Italy. The key to success for this particular venture would be to ensure that our distributors are highly qualified for the job so that they are representing our company in the best way possible.  Ultimately direct exporting will give our company full control over decision-making and transactions without having to worry about any outside company interfering with our business endeavors. Some disadvantages of exporting would be that it requires a ton of responsibility, time, and money to make happen. Italy is Europe’s third-largest economy and a founding member of the European Union, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, the G7, and the G8. According to IcePay, “you can’t ignore the Italian credit card CartaSi if you want to sell your products or services on the Italian market. Together with MasterCard and VISA, CartaSi is the most frequently used credit card in Italy for online purchases” (IcePay, 2021). The reason why we chose Italy as our country of choice is that Italian fashion has always played a major role in the world of fashion alongside France and the United States as being one of the leading countries within the fashion industry.
