Hello and welcome to my e-portfolio. My name is Tamar Gamreklidze, I am from the Republic of Georgia and I am a recently graduated student in the Dental Hygiene Program at NYCCT class 2020.
Why I choose this profession? All my childhood I spent in the dental clinic, my mother was a dentist and I used to go to visit her very often. I had my own white coat and white hat and also my set of instruments, so I am “working” with teeth from childhood. I really wanted to become a dentist even though my father wanted me to follow his steps and become gynecologist, but the dental clinic was more attractive and nicer for me rather than the big hospital, but due to the difficult period in my country(which I am not going to talk about that here) my dream did not come true. So as soon as I came here I started to think about how to make my dreams come true. In my country, there was no separate program to become a dental hygienist, so when I heard about this program I started to work very hard to achieve my goal. I really went through many difficulties and I am very proud of myself that I made it and soon I will be an RDH
