A Wall Panel is single piece of material, usually flat and cut into a rectangular shape, that serves as the visible and exposed covering for a wall. Wall panels are functional as well as decorative, providing insulation and soundproofing, combined with uniformity of appearance, along with some measure of durability or ease of replace ability. While there is no set size limit for a piece of material fulfilling these functions, the maximum practical size for wall panels has been suggested to be 24 inches by 8 feet, to allow for transportation.
Cladding is the application of one material over another to provide a skin or layer. In construction, cladding is used to provide a degree of thermal insulation and weather resistance, and to improve the appearance of buildings. Cladding can be made of any of a wide range of materials including wood, metal, brick, vinyl, and composite materials that can include aluminum, wood, blends of cement and recycled polystyrene, wheat/rice straw fibers.

Stone veneer used as the decorative facing material that is not meant to be load bearing. Stone veneer can be made from natural stone as well as manufactured stone. Natural stone veneer is made from real stone that is either collected, i.e. field stone, or quarried. The stone is cut to a consistent thickness and weight for use as a veneer.
The advantages of natural stone veneer over manufactured stone are:
- Durability (real stone will not fade or crack over time. It lasts for centuries)
- Aesthetics, its look is generally viewed as superior to the man-made painted cultured stone product. Characteristics which identify natural stone such as the texture, moss or lichen growing on the rock, unique shapes, etc. cannot be matched with manufactured stone.
- Its semi-lightweight eliminates the need for wall ties or footings and makes it easier and cheaper to build.
Stone cladding is a thin layer of real or simulated stone applied to a building or other structure made of a material other than stone. Stone cladding is sometimes applied to concrete and steel buildings as part of their original architectural design. As a finish lately are very often used for the interior walls giving the interior great structure and excellent design.
