The OpenLab is an open-source, digital platform designed to support teaching and learning at City Tech (New York City College of Technology), and to promote student and faculty engagement in the intellectual and social life of the college community.

One project that I have been exploring is connecting with the NYC Sanit dept to extend their organics pick-up to include City Tech. The college generates 150 lb of organic waste per day at the Namm cafeteria.
This could be diverted from landfill, where it breaks down anaerobically and contributes methane to the atmosphere, or it could be picked up by the Sanit dept and composted.

If City Tech is eligible, someone needs to submit the inquiry form found on the above page. By submitting the form, the college will be added to a list of interested buildings. The form can be accessed directly at http://on.nyc.gov/rcy enroll
