As a foreign-trained dentist, I have always had a passion for teeth. All over the world, the thought of a beautiful smile conjures up images of healthy, white, sparkling, and shiny teeth. It would also be really hard to enjoy your food without them.
The Mouth is the gateway to our body – that old adage “ You are what you eat” truly applies here! Dental hygiene is at the forefront of making sure we maintain a healthy mouth, great teeth, and stunning smile for years to come.
The path to becoming a dental hygienist was difficult, but I did not give up. After completing the required prerequisites, I was accepted into the Evening Cohort of the program in 2022. In the last two years, there have been times of significant challenges, but through my own efforts and the support and guidance of our faculty, I have also experienced momentous joy in overcoming them.
I have acquired valuable skills in dental techniques and patient communication. This has given me the ability to confidently and skillfully perform as a clinician. As graduation approaches, I would like to apply the knowledge gained, my academic background, and practical experience in a professional practice. My goal is to provide exceptional patient care and promote oral health among my patients.
